Gordon Victor Kingshott

Gordon Victor Kingshott was a Private in the 15th Company of the Australian Machine Gun Corps. His service number was 2859.

Gordon was the son of John & Elizabeth Kingshott of Broadmeadows, near Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He was the great grandson of John Kingshott of Greatham. Gordon was one of oldest of nine children and was born in 1889.

In 1915, Gordon married Nellie Evelyn Bowtell. Unfortunately, the Great War intervened and consequently this branch of the Kingshott tree died out.

The following year, on 23rd November 1916, Gordon was killed in action on the Western Front. He was 27 years old.

As yet, I have not managed to link this branch of the family to me. I can get them back to within a mile of my own branch, but have yet to find the link. This is my biggest genealogical brick wall!
