Arthur Gerald Kingshott

Arthur Gerald Kingshott was a Private in the 2nd Battalion, The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment. His service number was G/12986.

Cap Badge of the Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment

Arthur was born around 1898 in South Ambersham, Sussex to William Henry Kingshott (b. 1867 at Chigwell, Essex, England) and his wife Ellen nee Twort. He was the third of five children.

Unfortunately I have not been able to find Arthur's service record, or medal card. I therefore have no information on the details of his service.

Arthur did not marry and was killed in action on the Western Front, on 13th May 1917. He has no known grave and remains buried in the mud. He is commemorated at Arras in France, and his name appears on bay 2 of the memorial.
