Kingshott Family of East Ham, London, England

This is a group of Kingshott's that I can trace back through the census years to East Ham in what was then the county of Essex. As population increased in the 19th century, East Ham became part of the greater London area.

The earliest person that I can find in this area is a Robert Kingshott whose burial occurred in the parish on 14th November 1848. His burial gives a suggested birthdate of somewhere around 1777. Unfortunately, I have no candidates as to who this can be.

There is another Robert Kingshott, born in 1816, who is probably this Robert's son. He was buried in East Ham on 6th July 1846. I can find no corresponding baptism. Similarly, there is also a Benjamin Kingshott, born around 1814, again in East Ham, who is also likely to be the first Robert's son. As before, I can find no corresponding baptism.

As I cannot locate the baptisms for these children, I cannot prove that they are the sons of the initial Robert Kingshott, though this certainly seems very likely.

Benjamin Kingshott went on to have a large family which can be seen here.
