John Kingshott

This particular John Kingshott is a complete mystery. I cannot locate him in any census prior to 1911. In the 1911 census, John is lodging in Leominster and it states that he was born in Cornwall. The "Soldiers Died in the Great War" index states that John was born in 1877 in "Hallsworthy, Cornwall". There is a Holsworthy, in Devon, which is a possibility. However, I am not aware of any Kingshott's down this way at the time of John's birth. There were two families that came down here, but they arrived later.

John Kingshott served in T Company, Camel Transport Corps, Royal Army Veterinary Corps. He was an Acting Sergeant at the time of his death. His service number was SE/11431.

John died in Egypt on 10th September 1918. He is buried at the Ramleh War Cemetery in Israel.
